Lebe Law is proud to announce that that conditional certification has been granted in the pending collective action against Papa, Inc.  This means that Papa Pals that have been classified as independent contractors will have the opportunity to opt into the lawsuit and seek unpaid minimum wages and overtime.

Papa Pals provide chore assistance and companionship for seniors.  This lawsuit alleges that they are deprived of the rights of employees, including to be paid all minimum and overtime wages, to be provided meal and rest breaks, to be reimbursed for all mileage and other business expenses, among other alleged violations.

A copy of the order granting conditional certification can be found here.
